Invitation to open board meeting: all are welcome to attend
As part of Rochdale’s safeguarding adults week, Rochdale Borough Safeguarding Adults Board (RBSAB) is holding its first open board meeting.
The board meeting will be open to anyone who wishes to observe it and who has reserved a place. It will take place on Thursday 21st November from 2.30 to 4.30 pm.
At the meeting you will have the opportunity to see first-hand the work undertaken by the board to help and protect adults in our area from abuse and neglect. RBSAB is responsible for co-ordinating local agencies in the statutory and non-statutory sectors and has a collective responsibility for ensuring that all agencies working with adults fully understand and undertake their safeguarding duties and responsibilities. This meeting will look at current issues facing the safeguarding adults board and the 2018-2019 annual report.
Here are some of the items the meeting will focus:
· Safeguarding adults awards presentation: an opportunity to celebrate and recognise local good practice.
· 2018-2019 annual report: a summary of what we know about need in the borough, the availability, quality and effectiveness of services to respond to that need, and what our plans are for going forward.
· Sub group reports: summaries of work undertaken by each sub group to help RBSAB carry out its statutory functions and duties effectively.
· A number of presentations on key safeguarding programmes undertaken by board member organisations locally.
RBSAB chair Jane Booth said: “Rochdale Borough Safeguarding Adults Board is committed to increasing the transparency of the work it undertakes. We hope that local residents will be interested to come along and see first-hand how the board works to reduce risk and to safeguard adults with care and support needs from neglect and abuse”.
